This article focuses on the need for a strategic approach to meet the requirements of an efficient and secure industrial IoT network, and how the Cisco IE portfolio meets internationally recognized standards for security for these systems.
Why is my industrial network important?
Your industrial network is crucial as it directly influences operational efficiency, security, and long-term costs. A well-designed network allows you to leverage future technologies effectively, ensuring that your operations remain competitive and resilient against disruptions.
How can I ensure my network equipment is secure?
To evaluate the security of your industrial networking equipment, refer to the ISA/IEC 62443 standards. These standards outline the requirements that industrial components must meet to be considered secure, providing a reliable framework for assessing the cybersecurity of your network.
What certifications should I consider for networking equipment?
Look for equipment that is certified under ISA/IEC 62443-4-1 and 4-2. Cisco's Industrial Ethernet switches meet these certifications, ensuring they comply with rigorous security requirements and are designed to protect your industrial operations effectively.
